Contract Campaign

The goal of the contract campaign is “To motivate MPEC members to support the bargaining team throughout the campaign to negotiate a contract that creates healthy work environments and a stable workforce”

FY18 Tuition Reimbursement

Last December we successfully negotiated a $500 tuition reimbursement that can be used to reduce educational cost for courses related to current employment. Please see the contract language below and take advantage of the negotiated benefit.

Update on Creating an Indoor Air Quality Standard

MPEC represents State employees at hundreds of work locations across the state.  Many of these building have poor air quality and members are experiencing serious health issues.  85% of surveyed employees currently have an illness, symptoms or discomfort that are attributed to conditions in their office or building.

MPEC Members Rally for Respect

On June 23, MPEC members stood up at the Rally for Respect against Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation's (SDAT) illegal sick leave policy. We will not stand idle while sick leave, and thus families, are attacked.

 

Successful Contract Defense for Bill Marker

The Maryland Professional Employees Council defended our contract and stopped the arbitrary denial of union training time. In a recent decision made on behalf of William “Bill” Marker, the Secretary of DBM limited an agency’s denial of release time when requests are made 30 days prior to the request.
