Governor O'Malley signs MOU with MPEC on Valentine's Day

The governor signed the three year agreement that was ratified earlier this month for employees of bargaining unit G. He recognizes that state employees have made large sacifices over the last four years and it is time that we start seeing our benefits returned.

Union Contract

This Memorandum of Understanding, or MOU, is the written contract between the State of Maryland and state employees in bargaining unit G, scientific, administrative and professional employees.  It defines roles, responsibilities and rights of each party as they relate to employment, working conditions and benefits. All members of bargaining unit G are protected under this agreement.

Who is MPEC?

State professional and administrative employees are represented in collective bargaining by the Maryland Professional Employees Council (MPEC).
